Stewart was referred into our service by the sexual assault referral centre (Bridgeway) following a recent rape. We contacted Stewart within 48 hours to let him know we had received his referral. His initial assessment took place within 14 days and he was allocated to an integrated support worker as he had everyday life and emotional needs.

Working together with the mental health service, his G.P, his violence advisor (ISVA) and the local housing officer, Stewart was able to access a range of services with the support of his integrated worker. This improved his wellbeing and emotional resilience. Using a multiagency approach means that Stewart did not have to keep repeating his story and his needs were better met.

This stabilisation work meant that Stewart then went on to access our counselling service where he could fully engage as his everyday living issues had been resolved and the most appropriate support was in place.
