We recognise that sexual and domestic abuse cannot be tackled in isolation.
We participate and contribute to Multi agency meetings including MARAC.
We are working in partnership to ensure that sexual and domestic abuse are on the strategic agenda in Cumbria.
We have strong recognition of our work from statutory and voluntary sector partners across the county, with embedded pathways in place with mental health providers, Children’s Services, Let Go, Victim Support (Independent sexual violence advisors service) and The Bridgeway Services (Sexual Assault Referral Centre).
We are the commissioned by the Police and Crime Commissioner and Health to provide the counselling services for the Cumbria Sexual Assault Referral Centre (Bridgeway). We work closely with Victim Support who provide the Independent Sexual Violence Advisor Services (ISVA)
We work in partnership with The Birchall Trust in the south of the County to provide countywide sexual abuse counselling services.
We also work closely with Let Go who deliver the Independent Domestic Violence Advisors and outreach services across the county (IDVA)
Our service doesn’t work with perpetrators of domestic and sexual abuse but we work in partnership with Cumbria Reducing Offending Partnership Trust (CROPT) and Victim Support (Turning the Spotlight) who support offenders to restart their lives and re-engage with communities in a positive way.
We work within a countywide infrastructure and hold key strategic positions in Cumbria. Our Service Lead is a member of the Sexual Violence Strategic and Operational Group and our Clinical Lead represents Safety Net (UK) and the 3rd Sector at the Child Sexual Exploitation Strategic Group and the Children and Young Peoples Reference Group.
Members of staff attend the Cumbria Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences, Practitioners Forums and Champions Networks. Good partnership links and pathways have been developed with key partner agencies, both operationally and strategically, specifically Mental Health Services and Children’s Services.
